RIASSUNTO

HARNESSTOM è una Innovation Action guidata dall’industria che si propone di migliorare l’accessibilità e consolidare l’uso e la conoscenza delle risorse genetiche del pomodoro al fine affrontare le nuove sfide dettate dal mercato e dal cambiamento climatico promuovendo l’interazione tra i diversi stakeholders della filiera. HARNESSTOM affronterà problemi e particolari esigenze individuate dai partner industriali (dai produttori alle ditte sementiere) e dai consumatori, facilitando l’informazione e l’accesso alle risorse genetiche e sviluppando una serie di materiali di pre-breeding che accelererà l’uso del germoplasma e coprirà le esigenze del settore produttivo e dei consumatori. La gestione innovativa del Progetto HARNESSTOM e le sue strutture operative provvederanno una interazione efficiente per il trasferimento di materiali, conoscenze e competenze dall’accademia all’industria e al settore produttivo, spostandosi dal laboratorio per assistere produttori e ditte sementiere nelle loro necessità commerciali. Il Dafne (Partner 20-UNITUS) è principalmente coinvolto nello studio di aspetti del sistema riproduttivo sensibili a stress abiotici e nella implementazione di attività di Citizen science e strategie di miglioramento genetico partecipativo.
