The University provides a series of services and interventions to facilitate the accessibility of students, their inclusion and their participation in the academic community concerning teaching, research, but also accessibility to services and structures. The Delegate of the Rector for Inclusion and Equity, Dr Martina Galli, coordinates with the Delegates of the Departments for Accessibility and Inclusion to implement strategies of intervention.
It is appropriate to acquire information on inclusion and accessibility services before the start of the study course.
To access to the services of the University, the certificate must be uploaded on GOMP through the online procedure for enrolment. It is advisable to ask for information or to book a meeting with the Delegate of the Department or with the Office.
The certificate must be in compliance with the relative regulation:
The students may avail themselves of compensatory and dispensatory measures during the admission test upon request. Some examples include:
These measures may also be requested for the exams of the study course. The forms are available on the University website, in “Modulistica” sections. The request must be send to the teacher via mail 15 before the exam at least, forwarding the request also to inclusione@unitus.it.

The coordination with the lecturers can be facilitated by the Delegate of the Department, whose contacts are available on the webpage Commissione Inclusion.
Font Easyreading
In 2020, the University purchased a license for the Easyreading font, a typeface dedicated to those with dyslexia. It is a highly readable typeface that overcomes reading barriers even for those with dyslexia. It is used as a default for the online learning services. The purpose is to facilitate the academic journey of students with DSA, offering them a new type of ground-breaking teaching, closer to their own needs.
Under the contract, the licensor granted the University the right to use the Font for installation on computers within its facilities and on faculty members’ personal computers for the purpose of producing, in both hard copy and digital formats:
EasyReading is available free for personal and nonprofit use.
VRAILEXIA Project
VRAIlexia (Partnering Outside the Box: Digital and Artificial Intelligence Integrated Tools to Support Higher Education Students with Dyslexia) funded within the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership for Higher Education program, has, in fact, as its main objective to define innovative services and tools to support the academic career of students with learning disabilities.
UNITUS is the project leader and the only one in Italy to have embarked on this path, which, among other things, will enable dyslexic students to complete their education within the scheduled time. They will be equipped with innovative tools. In particular, thanks to collaboration with European universities (Spain, France, Belgium) and private educational and dissemination entities (Portugal, Greece, GIUNTI PSY), artificial intelligence and virtual reality researchers, psychologists and sociologists will work to develop a platform, called beSPECIAL, which with the help of artificial intelligence and virtual reality can be used by students with dyslexia to improve their learning methodologies, customizable for each individual, and ensure an increasingly vibrant inclusion in academia.
