PON Research and Innovation Action – “Support for Families in Paying University Tuition Fees”

Action IV.2 of the PON Research and Innovation 2014–2020, Axis IV – Education and Research for Recovery, supported by the European REACT-EU initiative, Action IV.2 “Support for Families in Paying University Tuition Fees”, provides new funds to help economically disadvantaged families cover university tuition costs.
This measure, managed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, uses REACT-EU resources to increase the Ordinary Financing Fund (FFO), in order to offset the revenue shortfall caused by full or partial tuition fee waivers.

The measure has covered the academic years 2021–2022, 2022–2023, and 2023–2024, and is aimed at public universities located in the target areas defined by the program, as established by Ministerial Decree No. 1014 of August 3, 2021.

The program, designed to promote inclusion and ensure the right to education, has enabled many students to benefit from full or partial tuition waivers, thus facilitating continued university studies.
