Mare aperto 2024

The Italian Navy has expressed the opportunity to allow 3 students from Unitus to participate in the “Mare Aperto” 2023 training event. Specifically, those selected will have the chance to embark with the Italian Navy during the exercises taking place from May 6th to May 24th.

These exercises will be set in the central Mediterranean and will involve the participation of naval units from the Italian and French navies, as well as forces from some NATO countries. They will engage in realistic scenarios covering various topics related to the following areas: Environmental and heritage protection, Civil protection, Cultural and political mediation, Cyber defense, Public information, and Operating in environments contaminated by chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear agents.

Students from the Bachelor’s Degree programs in “Communication, technologies, and digital cultures” (L-20), “Political Science and International Relations” (L-36), “Political science, international security, and public communication” (LM-62), and “Digital Information” (LM-91) are eligible to express interest. These students will be required to carry out activities in the field of Public Information, supporting the Commanders of the naval groups involved in the outlined scenario.
