The Course meets the needs of job market and provides specific expertise for planning and management of sustainable production of seeds and seedlings having
high quality traits. The Course aims to provide students with theoretical and practical education in seed sector (cereal, oil, forage and vegetable crops), nursery production (vegetable, ornamental, fruit and forest plants), registration and protection of new cultivars, in order to facilitate a successful entrance into the job market.

The Course is recognized by many seed companies and plant nurseries operating throughout the national territory, in which students will have to do a 50-hours internship.

  • Learning objectives

    The course meets the demands of the labour market and provides specific skills for the planning and management of sustainable production of seeds and young plants with high quality characteristics. This course firstly aims to guarantee the student a theoretical-practical training in the fields of seed production of herbaceous crops (cereal, oilseed, forage, horticultural), horticultural, floricultural, forestry, ornamental nursery and fruit trees and in the registration and protection of new plants, which favors immediate transition into the world of work.

  • Career opportunities

    Graduates will be able to work in:

    • Companies producing seeds and multiplying plant material in all agricultural and forestry sectors;
    • Marketing structures for seeds, plants and technical tools for nursery;
    • Plant material certification entities;
    • Professional studios.

    The course does not foresee further education programmes.

  • Further information about the course

    The course has an agreement with several seed industries and nurseries throughout the country in which the student will have to carry out the internship which corresponds to 50 CFU.
