Since 2019, the procedures for the allocation of the final project/thesis, the graduation exam application, and the submission of the final project itself must be carried out through the GOMP portal.
A university web page has been set up summarizing the procedure to follow, which is outlined below.
For the Inter-University Master’s Degree in “Food Science and Technology” (LM-70), reference is made to the information provided on the Course of Study’s web pages (link).
For information on the procedure, you can email lauree.dibaf@unitus.it.
All students must submit a request for thesis assignment to their advisor. The student can then follow the following flow in their portal: Home > Career, Study Plan, Exams > Degree Achievement > Request for Thesis Assignment.
The preliminary title of the final project/thesis must also be provided in English (it can be modified in a subsequent phase of the degree application). To correctly fill out the degree application, the student must have an approved study plan in their portal. When indicating the name of the advisor, after typing the name of the faculty member, click the + button.
The advisor can be chosen from the faculty members of the Course of Study or the Department, adding the teaching or disciplinary area considered, provided it is consistent with the teachings of the Course of Study.
Until the start, the request remains pending and can be updated. Once the fields of the Thesis Request are completed, the student can submit the request, which will be forwarded to the advisor, who can accept the thesis requests received on their personal page.
The request for assignment of the final project or thesis must be made through GOMP after agreeing on methods and timing with the advisor (however, please refer to the educational regulations of the Course of Study).
The request must be submitted normally before the start of activities; failure to request precludes admission to the graduation session.
In the case of Master’s degrees, where applicable, after the acceptance of the thesis request, the Department Director, after consulting with the President of the student’s course of study, appoints a co-advisor.
Students of Master’s degree programs (with the exception of the Course of Study in Food Science and Technology) must also submit, in addition to the thesis request, the request for appointment of the co-advisor using the following form to be submitted to the academic office:
Co-advisor Appointment Form (word)
Once the advisor has accepted the thesis request and the final project or thesis is nearing completion, the student can proceed with the following steps: Home > Career, Study Plan, Exams > Degree Achievement > Degree Application/Achievement, to submit their degree application.
The degree application must be submitted AT LEAST 40 DAYS BEFORE THE GRADUATION SESSION. The degree application consists of 4 sections:
Once all fields are completed, the student can proceed to submit the application. At this point, the degree application can be generated in PDF format. Once again, the application can be canceled/updated or the submission confirmed.
The student can participate in the graduation session only if they have passed the last exam at least 15 days before the graduation session date.
When the student has completed writing the final project or thesis and has the positive opinion of the advisor (and, if applicable, the co-advisor), the student can proceed to the next phase of uploading the thesis file in PDF format. The upload of the final project or thesis in PDF format, through the GOMP platform, must be done at least 10 days before the graduation exam date.
The student should include, after the table of contents, an Abstract in Italian (maximum 300 words), 5 Keywords, and an Abstract in English and 5 Keywords.
The path is as follows: Home > Career, Study Plan, Exams > Degree Achievement > Upload thesis file. It will then be possible to update the thesis title (in Italian and English) and Keywords (in Italian and English) once again.
The electronic signature of the final project or thesis in PDF format, through the GOMP platform, must be done at least 10 days before the graduation exam date.
The Advisor and the Graduation Exam Commission will then have only a copy of the manuscript in PDF format.
The PDF file, uploaded by the student to the GOMP system and signed by the advisor, must be sent to the Library via email address: tesisba@unitus.it.
The student should indicate the following data in the email subject: 1) last name-first name, 2) department code, 3) course code, 4) academic year (this data will help distinguish the theses that each of the library centers will take care of). In the email text, the student must provide 5 keywords (those already indicated in the final project or thesis), useful for archiving and searching.
At the discretion of the candidate and the Course of Study, a copy of the final project or thesis may be made available to the Commission on the morning of the graduation exam, to be retrieved at the end of the session.
In the case of Graduation Sessions conducted remotely, the above procedure is integrated with what is described in the file “Guidelines for Remote Graduation Sessions” (linked to the respective file) and in “Thesis – Determinations” (linked to the respective file).
The Graduation Session Calendar for the DIBAF Courses can be found on the ‘Academic Calendar‘ webpage.
In addition to the current graduation exam procedures for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs, there will be a Proclamation Ceremony for the newly graduated students, and the diplomas will be handed out. This event will be organized publicly by the Rectorate.
