The Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences establishes a graduation award in memory of Professor Dario Angeletti

Viterbo, April 15, 2025 – The Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences (DEB) at the University of Tuscia, in collaboration with the Interuniversity Research Center on Cetaceans (CIRCE) and the family of Prof. Dario Angeletti, is establishing the “Dario Angeletti” Graduation Award for the best Master’s thesis in Marine Sciences.

The award, worth €1,000, will be granted annually in memory of Prof. Dario Angeletti, marine biologist and associate professor at DEB, whose career was marked by a deep commitment to training young scholars in the fields of ecology and marine biology. The initiative aims to promote a scientific culture focused on the sustainability of marine ecosystems and to highlight the contributions of young researchers in environmental sciences. Through this recognition, the Department seeks to honor the memory of Prof. Angeletti and his dedication to the protection of marine environments.

The award is open to Master’s graduates who have earned their degree in one of the following fields: Biology (LM-6), Environmental and Land Sciences and Technologies (LM-75), or Natural Sciences (LM-60). Candidates must have graduated no more than one year prior to the date of the announcement. Theses must address topics related to marine ecology and biology, or the conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems. The evaluation will consider the originality of the thesis, its relevance to marine sciences, and the candidate’s academic record.

Applications, written on plain paper, must be submitted exclusively via certified email (PEC) to the address deb@pec.unitus.it no later than 12:30 PM on May 3, 2025.
