Current work involves the use of sustainable management tools for the optimization of crop production and prevention of soil-borne and aerial diseases in horticulture, ornamentals, cereal and tree crops, with special reference to semi-arid environments. Currently, the research interests are focused on the study of the etiology, ecology, and epidemiology of soil-borne fungal pathogens of horticultural crops, and in particular the influence of local beneficial micro-organisms in the rhizosphere on the containment of these diseases and their potential as bioagents.
