ABSTRACT
LOWINFOOD aims to tackle the reduction of food waste in selected food value chains by providing scientific demonstration of different types of innovations.
A multi-actor approach will be used to co-define a methodology to test the efficacy of different innovations against food waste across selected chains in 12 EU countries.
In each chain, the quantity of food waste will be assessed prior and after the implementation of the innovations, so as to evaluate their efficacy in reducing the amount of waste produced.
The socio-economic issues related to the implementation of innovations will also be estimated together with the environmental impacts.
Discussion with the relevant stakeholders will support the identification of the trajectories to push dissemination of these innovations across food chains
